For colicky evening fussiness around 3 months, moms recommend hing (asafoetida) roll-ons like Mother Sparsh or Mamaearth, or plain hing dissolved in warm water applied to the tummy, used sparingly once a day; fresh air or a drive and remedies like Colicaid are also mentioned.
⚠️ Caution:Use hing very sparingly to avoid skin irritation, and apply only to the tummy, not broken skin. Before giving any medicine like Colicaid, consult your pediatrician - persistent or severe crying warrants a check-up.
Parents are distressed by a baby who cries inconsolably every evening and desperate for something that helps. The community reassures that this is usually ordinary colic that peaks around 3 months and passes, and that gentle remedies - a hing roll-on or a dab of hing in warm water on the tummy, fresh air, or a calming drive - bring relief, while steering toward a doctor before using any medicine.
Here's what moms in our community shared based on their own experience.
The Mother Sparsh hing roll-on is very good; the Mamaearth one is nice too. Hing dissolved in a little warm water (so it dissolves) and applied on the tummy worked just as well.
I had a good experience with the roll-on. If using hing directly, take a very small amount or it can irritate the skin; use it once a day, mostly in the evenings.
Evening crankiness around 3 months is often colic pain, very common. Try a hing roll-on (I used Mother Sparsh); in the worst case I gave Colicaid, and if nothing works take them outside for fresh air or a drive.
