Empowering mothers worldwide through connection, support, and shared experiences ✨
The community advises gradual desensitization - running the feared appliance in a separate room from the baby and slowly increasing exposure - reassuring that babies progressively learn there's nothing to fear.
Parents worry when a baby develops a sudden, intense fear of an object that even disrupts sleep and clinging. The community reassures with shared experiences that gradual, gentle exposure - keeping the appliance at a distance and slowly bringing it closer - helps the baby learn it's nothing to fear.
Here's what moms in our community shared based on their own experience.
Run the robot vacuum in a different room from where the baby is (vacuum the bedroom while the baby is in the hall and vice versa). Over time the baby sees it without being so scared - one mom saw clear progress this way.
Exposure over time helps babies get used to it; an older toddler eventually didn't care about it.
Find your way around the trigger for now, and slowly the baby will understand there's nothing to be scared of.
