No workshop is needed; a Maharashtrian mom shares a full roadmap - start fruits at 6 months, build from 1 to 3 meals plus a snack by 8-9 months, purees for ~15 days then mashed food, introduce mild homemade spices and dry-fruit powder with ghee, no salt/sugar until 1 year, and keep mealtimes stress-free and choke-aware.

💡Quick Answer

  • No workshop needed
  • Start fruits at 6 months; build 1 to 3 meals + snack by 8-9 months
  • Puree for ~15 days, then move to mashed food
  • Introduce mild homemade spices and dry-fruit powder with ghee
  • No salt or sugar until 1 year; one new food at a time
  • Don't force-feed; keep it stress-free and watch for choking

Here's what moms in our community shared based on their own experience.

  1. 1

There's no need for a workshop. Start with fruits at 6 months: 1 meal at 6 months, 2 at 7 months, 3 plus a snack by 8-9 months. Give puree only for the first 15 days, then move to mashed food. Start with boiled mashed fruits and vegetables, then slowly introduce homemade jeera, coriander powder and hing. Make dry-fruit powder and mix it into meals with ghee to avoid constipation. Don't mix multiple new foods at once. No salt or sugar until 1 year. After 8 months give idli, sambar, upma, ragi recipes, dosa, chapati, paratha. Let the baby play with food, eat with hands, don't force-feed, keep patience and a stress-free environment, and watch for choking. Being Maharashtrian doesn't change the journey.
